The Secret Behind Subliminal Messages

What makes subliminal messages so effective? The secret behind them is a fact that advertisers have known for decades; the more people are exposed to something, the easier it is to influence them.

Suppose, for example, that you want to give up smoking. You know it’s bad for your health, it’s expensive, and it’s becoming more and more anti-social. You have the desire to give up, for all the right reasons, but just can’t seem to take it to that final stage.

Believe it or not, your conscious mind is getting in the way. No matter what you really think, you don’t have the ability to put it into practice in the regular course of events. Your day is busy, you’ve got lots of other things on your mind, and you haven’t given the idea of quitting smoking enough priority.

The Subliminal Advantage

Subliminal messages are positive affirmations presented to your ears or eyes at a rate or volume that your conscious mind is unable to detect. Your subconscious mind, however, takes in everything. These messages bypass your logical conscious state and go directly to your subconscious. If messages are sent frequently enough they’ll start to change the way you think, and therefore the way you behave.

Someone who wants to give up smoking might be presented with subliminal messages similar to these:

• I am stronger than cigarettes
• I respect and nurture my body
• I am able to resist the temptation of smoking

Reading these three short affirmations on a page won’t produce any magical results within your subconscious mind. But imagine the impact if, instead of three messages, your subconscious was exposed to thousands – over and over again – for a couple of weeks. All the research shows the same thing: gradually your attitude changes, and then your behavior.

How Subliminal Messages Work

Some people argue that, if you can’t hear the sounds, or you can’t see the images, how can they possibly make any difference? The point is that you aren’t aware that you’re hearing or seeing the messages, but your subconscious mind still takes them in. That’s the reason why subliminal messages work in the first place – because they sneak into your head, bypassing your conscious rational mind, and getting at the core of your belief system.

You’re exposed to subliminal messages every day. You might have the radio on in the morning when you drive to work and keep hearing about a new film that’s just come out. The first time you hear it you give it your attention. As the days turn into weeks you’re no longer consciously listening to it, but the information flows into your subconscious mind. If it’s a film that interests you, this constant subtle reminder will probably be enough to get you to go to the cinema and watch it.

Now think how powerful that process would be if it was something you desperately wanted to achieve, like giving up smoking. Your determination combined with the mind-changing power of those positive affirmations makes a winning formula. Eventually you’ll think of smoking as a disgusting, destructive habit that you can’t believe you started in the first place.

If you really and truly want to make lasting changes in your behavior but can’t seem to find the impetus to get going, try subliminal messages. You’ve got nothing to lose and the chance to gain a new and more rewarding lifestyle.

Deep Zen Meditation

The Deep Zen meditation program was created

specifically to take you into a deep Theta meditative state.  This
is just above sleep, but below the conscious mind.

Our Totally Tranquil program was designed for stress relief – it’s
an alpha level program that helps you “zone out” but yet remain
alert – alert but calm.  You can try a demo of that program here:

If you’ve ever doubted that regular meditation can dramatically
improve all aspects of your life, consider the following benefits:

1)  Spiritual connectedness, emotional tranquility.

Daily meditation does indeed strengthen your connection to your
spiritual center, but you might not be aware of the positive impact
such a connection can have on your mind and emotions.

A deep connection to your spiritual self helps elevate your
consciousness above the mundane.  Over time, you realize that you
are less easily unsettled by minor problems or obstacles, and even
big issues seem more manageable.  In all of your experiences, you
have a keen awareness that there is more to life than the little
problems and obstacles you face each day, so you react to them
calmly and confidently with a certain sense of detachment.

2)  Think less, be more.

Our thoughts are always moving at such a rapid pace that spending
too much time “in our heads” can leave us feeling scattered and

On the other hand, regular time spent in meditation helps us move
out of our scattered thoughts and live our lives from a state of
peace and well-being.  Our thoughts are still there but we are no
longer dwelling in them.  We dwell instead in a quieter, softer
place within us.  As a result, everything in our daily experiences
seems softer and calmer too.

3) Spirituality and self-esteem.

Surprisingly, regular meditation can do wonders in healing low
self-esteem and self-worth too.  Once you have connected with the
true beauty of your spiritual center, it’s hard to get upset over
minor flaws.  Along with inner peace comes a genuine sense of
self-love and acceptance.  And the longer you continue to meditate,
the brighter your inner radiance will grow.  Before long, you see
yourself in a completely different way than you used to.

No longer are you a flawed, frightened, lowly human – but a
gorgeous, confident extension of divine love.  Not surprisingly,
you are not the only one who benefits from this transformation.
You share this same spiritual essence with everyone you encounter
and help affect positive change in the world.

The greatest thing about these benefits is that you don’t have to
make them happen on your own, they simply happen naturally through
the regular practice of meditation.  These benefits (and many more)
are the natural result of being deeply connected to your inner
core.  Simply set aside some time to quiet your thoughts on a
regular basis and watch the magic happen in every area of your life.

A Natural Cure for Insomnia and Sleep Anxiety

Poor quality sleep is a massive modern-day problem, and according to the National Sleep Foundation is something 1 in 3 people suffer from some level of insomnia.

Lack of sleep affects physiological and cognitive functions such as memory and attention, complex thought, motor response and emotional control.

One particular study showed that participants kept awake for up to 19 hours scored substantially worse on performance and alertness than those who were legally intoxicated.

Lack of sleep also causes us to feel pretty miserable, and studies have shown that it considerably affects mood, causing anger, anxiety and sadness.

But sleep loss does far more than make us feel grumpy, sad and a little slower. In the past few years, investigators have found that sleep loss may have harmful consequences for our immune system, contributing to serious illnesses such as obesity, diabetes, and hypertension.
